Manager Profile Russ Austin manages one of Calgary’s most hi-tech Real Estate offices. The North West Branch of C.I.R. Realtors is the newest of the CIR offices and most progressive in the city. Russ Austin has managed one of Calgary’s busiest Real Estate offices for over the past seven years. In the spring of 2004 Russ moved to the North West Branch of C.I.R.. A native Calgarian, Russ has been in Real Estate since 1987 and with C.I.R. since 1988. He was looking for a strong company and C.I.R. fit the bill. He chose C.I.R. because, as he says "this was a company that let me come to work, didn’t interfere with the way I did business and forced me to maintain a high standard." Russ identifies with the family owned and operated philosophy of the company. On his desk sits framed photos of his children and grandchildren. He jokes about honing his negotiating skills on his family. But he’s not joking when he speaks of the atmosphere of mentorship so prevalent in his office. "I believe in providing unconditional assistance to people. I call on the Realtors to help each other," he says, "I care about the outcome and I care about the Realtors in this office on a day to day basis." Russ is sure that a twenty-year history in the transportation industry helped give him a strong customer focus. It helped him as a Realtor. It helps him today in his role as manager. Of primary concern to him is ensuring that a fair and equitable approach to the Realtors in his office is maintained. "The Realtors are my customers today," Russ says, "and the customers come first." |
